Lee Courtyard

For this project, we were asked to redesign the Lee Hall Courtyard on the campus of Clemson University. This design was to engage light and shadow in an interesting way. The driving element of this engagement with light and shadow is the steel steps and the space between them. These steps also bend through a series of ruled surfaces to create guard rails as well as offer the opportunity of the steps to switch directions whilst staying within the same gesture.
